Fresher - - Web application development using Ruby on Rails, Javascript, HTML/CSS, MYSQL, Linux
- Design, architect, implement new features and optimize existing ones from controller-level to UI
- Build applications/widgets for external networks like Facebook (FBML), LinkedIn (OpenSocial), iPhone, iPad, Android etc
- Adherence to agile development methods like TDD, BDD, peer code reviews, pair programming, continuous deployment & integration
- Requires working closely with product managers, interaction designers, and back-end engineers
- Rapidly fix bugs, iterate on design everyday (we have daily deployments on production)
- Solve scalability problems, keep the application running REALLY fast
- Pro-actively look for ways to make SlideShare better
- We have both junior and senior positions depending on your experience, background etc
Candidate Profile
B Tech or M Tech in Computer Science
- 1 to 5 yrs experience in a strong technology company (if you,ve worked in web development, thats ideal, but if you have worked in other areas, but want to shift now to web development, you can apply as well).
- Good programming skills with any one: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby. SlideShare uses Ruby as the programming language, but prior experience with Ruby is not essential. If you have worked on Java, PHP, Python, Perl and are a quick learner, we would like to hear from you as well.
- Good coding skills with Javascript / Ajax / Jquery
- Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
- Good understanding of web standards, CSS-based design, cross-browser compatibility
- Good understanding of web technologies (HTTP, Apache) and familiarity with Unix/Linux
- Good written communication and documentation abilities
- We have both junior and senior positions depending on your experience, background etc
