Job Role: Software Engineer (Internship)
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, document and implement system libraries, modules and applications for Solera Networks products
- Design and implement file system, networking, and management features for Solera Networks products
- Research and prototype experimental technologies and techniques in the areas of network security, file systems and data storage, SaaS applications and advanced visualizations
Required Skills:
- C, C++, PHP, HTML and XML skills
- Great attitude and strong work ethic
- The desire to achieve real-world results as well as unstructured research
- The ability to effectively communicate in person as well via phone, email and IM
Beneficial Experience:
- Experience with computer network protocols including IPv4, IPv6, TCP and UDP
- Experience with Python, Perl, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of Eclipse, NetBeans or other Linux IDE's
- Knowledge of Linux package management and creation with RPM
- Familiarity with pattern-matching theory and applications
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of degree or related work in the areas of software engineering, math, statistics or physics (with a strong leaning towards software development)
